Split-Cam Image Fusion!

What splendor! What class! A point and shoot that has the ability to take multiple exposures on a single shot!

This lightweight beauty was loaned by fellow photographer
Boris V. It has the great ability to take multiple exposures, which, to me, comes in very handy, even when not using it for all its novelty glory.

Although the shining part of this camera is probably its ability to split the frame, allowing you to expose the top half and bottom half separately. You can just use the little slider bars to block out the lens and your viewfinder. And then you can hold the camera upside down and look like a real novice. Not only are you using a half-yellow, half-black piece of plastic to take pictures, but now you are holding it upside down? What would the world think?

This camera always produced a light leak at the perfectly opportune time.

Or to question the orientation of American flags.

I leave you with a couple mock shots I took that were similar to the ideas on the packaging of the camera. These come out almost perfectly each time.

See all the pictures here.

If you would like to loan me a camera, just leave a comment with your email address, or send an email to tatemillerton@yahoo.com!

Olympus Stylus Epic ZOOM 80 DELUXE

The very first camera loan honor goes out to my brother, Ryan Foley. This is such a fun camera to shoot with. It is amazingly sharp.

See all shots taken here.

The camera left a few small light leaks in the corners of a few pictures like the one above.

To me, the camera's controls all seem like a digital camera. The flash and picture settings are in a digital screen on the top of the camera, and I have to say, compared to the others in my collection, its pretty sophisticated. But awesome. It also is an autowind camera, obviously autofocus, and scans your film to see what speed you are shooting with. I've never put a roll of film in a camera and shot so quickly.

I have a few more cameras that I'm working on shooting through that should be up here soon! Don't hesitate to contact me if there is a camera that you are dying to let me shoot with!

Wesley Yendrys

BIG thanks to Wesley for plugging my project on his blog. I've had a huge number of people email and ask when they can send me their camera, and I'm excited at the excitement this project is generating. I have three loaned cameras in my possession now that I am shooting through and should have pictures up here soon! Stay tuned for more! If you are interested in sending me your camera, please don't hesitate! You can email me at tate@tatemillerton.com.

Get this party started

So here's the idea, comment if you like, follow if you love. I have a recurring dream where I am rich and own every camera that has ever shot film. In this dream I am so wealthy its disgusting, and have endless amounts of storage to house every analog camera ever made.

Check out my work. I am interested in using a camera as is, without any digital editing, loving the unrefined results that come straight out of the camera. My work strives to create a visual encyclopedia of the experiments I've undertaken, and the cameras I've shot through to inform and educate other photographers about various cameras and their results. I wish to provide this encyclopedia as a Rosetta stone to future generations; ensuring that the same results obtained by a digital generation were conceived of and achieved first through analog means.

Sadly, this is only a dream. I don't have much money, and I don't have any more room in my one-bedroom to store a single extra camera. What I still have is the desire to shoot through every analog camera ever made.

This is where your pretty face comes in. I am proposing that you loan your camera to me for the time period of one month from the date which I receive the camera. All you have to pay is shipping of the camera one-way. I will put film in the camera, shoot with it for a month, develop the film, make prints, and send you back not only the camera, but also the whole stack of prints for you to keep. All you have to pay is shipping of the camera one-way. I will handle the rest.

I will also plug your work/website for the period in which I have the camera, placing a banner and link to your website along the side of my blog, as well as possibly giving you an interview on my site, or hooking you up with various other websites that want to plug your work.

How can you trust me? Let's be honest - for some of you who will be sending me your baby, I can only promise that it will be returned before the one-month period, in the exact same condition it came to me in. Its a lot to ask, but my reasons for embarking on this project are pure. I have love for photography, and I want the opportunity to shoot film through some of my dream cameras before I die.

So, who's first?

Here is a preliminary list of some of the cameras I am hoping to shoot with. However, I am excited to shoot with ANY camera that I have not shot with yet.
