Get this party started

So here's the idea, comment if you like, follow if you love. I have a recurring dream where I am rich and own every camera that has ever shot film. In this dream I am so wealthy its disgusting, and have endless amounts of storage to house every analog camera ever made.

Check out my work. I am interested in using a camera as is, without any digital editing, loving the unrefined results that come straight out of the camera. My work strives to create a visual encyclopedia of the experiments I've undertaken, and the cameras I've shot through to inform and educate other photographers about various cameras and their results. I wish to provide this encyclopedia as a Rosetta stone to future generations; ensuring that the same results obtained by a digital generation were conceived of and achieved first through analog means.

Sadly, this is only a dream. I don't have much money, and I don't have any more room in my one-bedroom to store a single extra camera. What I still have is the desire to shoot through every analog camera ever made.

This is where your pretty face comes in. I am proposing that you loan your camera to me for the time period of one month from the date which I receive the camera. All you have to pay is shipping of the camera one-way. I will put film in the camera, shoot with it for a month, develop the film, make prints, and send you back not only the camera, but also the whole stack of prints for you to keep. All you have to pay is shipping of the camera one-way. I will handle the rest.

I will also plug your work/website for the period in which I have the camera, placing a banner and link to your website along the side of my blog, as well as possibly giving you an interview on my site, or hooking you up with various other websites that want to plug your work.

How can you trust me? Let's be honest - for some of you who will be sending me your baby, I can only promise that it will be returned before the one-month period, in the exact same condition it came to me in. Its a lot to ask, but my reasons for embarking on this project are pure. I have love for photography, and I want the opportunity to shoot film through some of my dream cameras before I die.

So, who's first?

Here is a preliminary list of some of the cameras I am hoping to shoot with. However, I am excited to shoot with ANY camera that I have not shot with yet.

  1. Hello Tate.
I found you via Design For Mankind. I liked what I saw, so I browsed and ended up here.
Thing is, I have an Agfa Isolette, which I inherited from my grandfather. It's been sitting on a shelf ever since (about 15 years, it's quite nice to look at actually), because I've never really been able to afford shooting 120 on a regular basis.
I haven't tested it, but if you want to give it a go, I will send it to you. You can email me at hello (at) half-girl.org
(if you think it is too risky, I will understand :)
